ABOUT:

Hey there, I’m Sara, a music lover, endlessly curious about sound and sonic worlds. Welcome to my virtual home, a space where I share my process, my pursuit, and my path as a composer.
My journey with music began when I was 15, playing guitar in conservatory concerts. Music was already an important part of my life, but film music was still waiting to be discovered by my younger self.
A few years later, while I was trying to find my path, 2020 changed the world and my world with it. The streets closed, schools and restaurants shut down, everything stopped from one day to another, as if time itself had paused. A strange silence took over. Everyone was at home, trying to make sense of it all, moving between uncertainty and hope, between good news and bad. It felt, at times, like humanity was on the edge of something unknown.
In the middle of that stillness, something shifted for me.
I discovered the immersive and narrative power of sound. I remember feeling completely transported, as if music could take me to outer space or into another time entirely. It was no longer just something to listen to, but something that could create entire realities from a melody, a texture, a sound.
That was the moment, the second, the minute, the day when I understood the power of music.
Not just as something we hear, but as something that can create worlds or reveal the ones already within us.
Since then, I have continued along that path, deepening my connection with music, the music of the world, the music of my home, Ecuador, and the music that emerges from memory, dreams, and imagination.
Today, I am a film composer based in Vienna, originally from Ecuador. My work explores the emotional and psychological dimensions of sound, focusing on how music shapes narrative, perception, and memory.
My background bridges classical training and contemporary practices. I studied classical guitar at the Conservatorio Franz Liszt in Ecuador and later pursued Film Scoring at Berklee Online, where I was recognized on the Dean’s List. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Media Music from JAM Music Lab and I am currently part of the Electroacoustic and Experimental Music program at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
My artistic voice moves between cinematic, classical, and experimental worlds, often merging traditional musical language with sound design and electroacoustic textures. I am particularly drawn to themes of cultural identity, collective memory, and symbolic storytelling.
I have composed and produced original scores for independent films such as La vida en otra parte, Town Glitch, and Old Salem Dog, and collaborated on sound projects across Europe and Latin America.
The journey is still unfolding, and I continue searching for new sounds, new ways of listening, and new ways of creating worlds through music.
